Like you, I felt conflicted about what to wear...
I know what it feels like to have to choose between looking good and being sustainable. I always chose the former.
Then one day, I put on a blue silk dress for a party and my skin immediately broke out in red hives. That's when I learned that most textiles today are treated with chemicals and toxic metals that can harm your skin and body.
So I asked the Miao and Dong grandmothers in Guizhou to make me clothing in their most traditional way -- without chemical dyes, synthetic textiles, or even electricity.
After just 2 months of wearing these natural clothes, my body felt different. I felt uplifted and lighter. My skin could breathe, and my mind had more clarity. And my body felt loved.
I wanted others to experience this same feeling of love and freedom in their clothes. If I could feel it so quickly, surely others would be able to, too!
While I received my design training at Donna Karan in New York and Chloé in Paris, it is in these remote mountain villages of rural China that I learned to live according to the cycles of nature and craft clothing directly from the earth.
After 8 years of development, it is my dream to finally offer this collection -- so you, too, can experience the freedom of wearing natural hand-made zero-carbon clothing.
